ULTRASONIC THICKNESS MEASUREMENT (UTM) FOR CLASS SURVEY


Thickness measurement is fundamental to vessel's compliance with structural periodical survey requirements. All thickness measurements done onboard vessels, where the results are used by the class surveyors to evaluate the strength of hull structures, shall be done by approved service provider with valid classification societies certificates.

TOMTEC is approved service provider on all major IACS members. Our experience and knowledgeable inspection team can perform UTM for Class, during voyage inspection, anchorage or in dry-dock.

CONDITION ASSESSMENT PROGRAMME


The Classification Society rules and regulatory authorities require Special Periodic Surveys or Intermediate Survey for vessel to ensure that standards are met in accordance with the Enhance Survey Program. In addition, Condition Assessment Inspection evolved out of an industry request for higher standards above and beyond Class Survey requirements. CAP provides an independent evaluation of the condition of ship and also help to demonstrate the operational reliability of ships.

The assessment inspection will derive from Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement results, extent of overall, close-Up survey and Tank Testing.
